Location of Oracle client

About a week ago, I asked where people are installing the Oracle client.  To date, my responses are as follows:  

run from a shared network drive and importing registry entries into the client - 2
put on a disk image used to build a PC - 2 Citrix - 2
local install on the PC - 2
Anyone else care to weigh in on the subject.
