We are trying to write some monitoring tools to check the health of ASM- in doing a routine install of RAC using ASM on IBM AIX, I find that no listener / tnsnames config is done for the ASM instance.

Can ASM be accessed remotely ? Is there any surprises (other than reduced views) in doing this ? Is it supported ? Thanks in advance.
