I apologize for posting simultaneously on three different topics, but
these are announcement-type items, and I want to keep list traffic to a
minimum.
Openworld attendees: Please sign yourself up for the OOW social networking site to put in your two cents on, and to find out about any planned ORACLE-L gatherings at OOW. Sign in at the following URL with your OpenWorld registration credentials, and join the "ORACLE-L" group. Check back occasionally to find out what is planned:

NoCOUG Conference 10/25 Pleasanton, CA: I am delivering the keynote and a technical session at NoCOUG on the 25th. This promises to be a good conference, with great speakers like Peter Koletzke, James Koopmann, Dan Morgan and others. In my technical session I will be causing a variety of gnarly hangs on an Oracle instance and attempting to make hang detection in 11g work.

Jobs: Most of my Seattle clients now are clamoring for good DBAs, of both the straight-ahead and apps variety, and are hard pressed to find them. Check out my careers page for details on who is looking for what:
