As the others have already mentioned, there is similar functionality for patch application in Oracle (all nodes patched).

But what about the downtime in sqlserver during patch application?

With Oracle you have some (might be significant) extra to patch propagation to all of the nodes:

• you may minimize the downtime of the system to the time of catpatch.sql execution (+ time for shutdown/startup).
• and in case of rolling updates (which are not widely spread yet though) you may have no downtime at all.
