Yes, Mark is correct - I've run a couple systems on JFS2 with CIO and you definitely need to compensate for the lack of filesystem buffering by increasing your db_cache_size - that is assuming it wasn't oversized to begin with, which you'll want to verify from statspack, v$system_event, v$db_cache_advice, AWR, etc. prior to throwing more RAM at it if you don't need to.

I don't have any firsthand experience w/ JFS2, however, yes, in general, it's certainly possible to see physical I/O increase
