We went witrh CIO mounts(we're 9). but in 10g you dont have to have the filesystem mounted as cio since if you set the filesystemio_options=setall oracle issues the o_cio and the o_dio calls to the filesystem thus making it transparent to the system.
IBM has a very nice document   Oracle Architecture and tuning on AIX. written by  Damir Rubic and updated November 2006 that you should read to understand . if you want i can send you that document  offlist.
When using CIO you bypass the filesystem cache.

We are currently in the process of moving our filesystems from JFS to JFS2 and will soon be migrating out databases from 9.2.0.7 to 10.2.0.3.

Does anyone have any experience with AIX 5.2 - JFS2 and recommendations for mounting the filesystems and using CIO/DIO with Oracle 10.2?

I would especially appreciate any information on problems and/or bugs encountered and whether or not you use FS caching.
