As happens every few years, we are being asked for measures of the DBA team.

Comparisons against other organizations also are considered. Generally, these are apples to oranges comparisons but the high priced consultants have to justify their worth.

If anyone is willing to share information about their organization and DBA responsibilities I would appreciate the input. If you don't want it posted for the world to see you can email me at
pnbarne_at_regence.com.

Some of the questions being asked are:

organization size
type of business
number of applications
number of databases supported
number of production applications
number of development applications
number of developers supported
number of DBAs
number of new development projects requiring DBA support
what is considered the 'core' work of a DBA

Any input would be greatly appreciated. If people are interested, I will send out a summarized version of the responses.
