cache buffers chains

Hi all:

I'm looking for any tip as to runing cache buffers chains latches. I see a report that runs for over 2 hours and I see a lot of latch waits. I have identified the latch as cache buffers chains. I have been looking at metalink for info , but a few documents that I found were not very helpful. so if anyone has any way of tuning these latches that was successful I would appreciate if you could share it with me
