I think in heavily concurrent VLM environments, large pages can pay off. TPC tests use usually large pages as well, I've seen even 16MB page sizes in some configurations.

Tanel.

I was just reading this white paper on tuning AIX 5L for Oracle:

  http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/enable/site/peducation/wp/9a46/9a46.pdf

and am curious about the section on Large Page Memory (page 10).

Is anyone out there using the large page feature with Oracle 9i on AIX 5.2 or 5.3? Did you see any noticeable improvement from implementing it?

  Thanks,
  Brandon
