in 10g, Oracle data files are made "platform aware" -- that is, the file headers store detailed platform information. the new v$transportable_platform view will show you the full list of supported platforms.
so in 9i this is unsupported; you need 10g. if certain "tricks" work, you are on your own.

i had read oracle 10i beta document on May-2003 ,when i saw the feature i am very intersting ,but at that time i do not test it beacause there is only version for HP unix,Sun soalris and linux ,and i have not these platforms.
today,i want to know why and how.
