Can't speak for Clariion or Netapp, But EMC does have a tool that lest = you see into the internals of the array. Not sure what its called. = Check with your sales rep & have your wallet ready.

Subject: Oracle 9i File Mapping

Is anybody out there using this feature of 9i? I'm wondering how well it works, if it's useful, etc.

We're running EMC Symmterix, Clariion, and NetApp, and the sysadmins tell us there's no visibility into the internals of these arrays. If this tool works as described, it might be very useful.

Yes? No? Great? Sucks?

Thanks,
Mike
