Hi,

We recently implemented a 3rd party application running on HP-UX 11, using Oracle 8.1.7.4, 64-bit.

The application generates an average of 50 trace files a day. Around 40% of these trace files display a short message referring to the checksum, similar to this :

Dump file /oracle/app/oracle/admin/saprdlim/udump/ora_26575_saprdlim.trc Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.4.0 - 64bit Production JServer Release 8.1.7.4.0 - 64bit Production ORACLE_HOME = /oracle/app/oracle/product/8.1.7 System name: HP-UX

Node name: banh1lme
Release: B.11.11
Version: U
Machine: 9000/800

Instance name: saprdlim
Redo thread mounted by this instance: 1
Oracle process number: 24
Unix process pid: 26575, image: oracle_at_banh1lme (TNS V1-V3)

I assume that this is just an informational message, but I would like to disable it..There are no problems that I can see, and no complaints from the
users. I contacted the vendor, but they were unable to help. I've checked metatlink, google etc, but I have not found anything relevant. The application
does use java.

At first, I thought that it may have something to do with encryption, but that
is not being used. Anyone familiar with this ?

   thanks for your time.
