One thing to consider: You can run your scripts from any telnet (or similar) connection from any box over any kind of dial-up or network connection. I also think most things can be done more quickly via the command line, and doing so keeps you in touch with a least a few of Oracle's guts. GUI's are like the master bug in Starship Troopers that suck out your brain.
