But is it just a performance thing? Given a situation with all inner joins, I can't conceive of the order making any difference at all in the result set. To performance, yes, but not to results.

Next I thought about outer joins. Perhaps order matters more there, but for the life of me I can't conjure up an example of when a different order produces different results.
