Ryan,
I am doing this. In our Tnsnames.ora file, I have two entries - one for dedicated and one for shared. The application needs to use the correct tnsnames.ora connection for the type of connection that they want.
Optionally, you can do the same thing using either ora names or ora ldap. Same concept - two entries, one for each type of connection.
