Mladen,
It ain't that simple. The DBD::Oracle for Perl 5.8 needs to be compiled with 5.8 libs.
ActiveState is letting it go by the wayside. They do not have a
DBD::Oracle that
is installable with 5.8.
Even installing on 5.6.1 is a hack, you can't just load it from PPM anymore.
There was one at xmlproj.com, but the owner of that domain has gone incommunicado.

Why don't you install one? See on http://www.cygwin.com and http://http://www.gcc.org Also, I believe that you can find what you need on http://www.activestate.com. Alternatively, you can ditch windoze and switch to Linux.

Since there does not appear to be a version of dbd-oracle for Perl 5.8 on windows, any suggestions on how to access Oracle from Perl. I do not have a C compiler and thus can not compile the source.
