I would imagine it is likely something going on with your server or the OS - is there a pattern - same time each day - are you sure it isn't backups that your sys admin is running. Is your database and listener on windows setup for auto startup as a service (check your control panel). Do you see any Windows error or application logs - check with your sys admin or Windows documentation. Is there some kind of batch job running. Every day makes it very suspicious that it is a process of some kind.

Hi listers,

I'am in oracle 8i on window 2000 server. In this month my database down almost everyday and the only thing I can do is stop dan restart the database and it makes me curious what's going on with my oracle. Pls anyone on this list, can you give me a good solution how to fix it so it will not happen again. All suggestions is welcome and very appreciated.
