I use TOAD with the DBA option. It does an excellent job except for comparing ROLEs and finding privileges granted by someone other than the object owners (you can find that 2nd class of privileges --- you just have to know that they exist and go look for them).

OK, they have this document management system here installed on 4 databases,
dev, staging, and 2 prod instances. they have a master production and a slave production at two different locations. the "slave" is what's used to serve out the documents to the web customers. any changes are made on the master and then replicated out. so do they use Oracle replication? ummmm... or do they use the document management system's replication that fails at odd times and never reports errors? guess....

so now they want to compare the contents of the two production instances to see what is or is not the same between them. so does anybody know of a tool
to compare the contents of two schemas? or even to compare the outputs of a
query against the two schemas? [other than the obvious "save it to a file and run diff" one?;-)]
