I have been to IOUG since 1999 and this one was the best I have been to
so far. The committee has a tough road ahead to keep improving the
content and attract top quality speakers. However, I think that this
will be the key to increasing attendance.
Technical Content: Outstanding! It was difficult deciding which sessions to attend, especially when it meant deciding between friends or between a friend and a great topic. In several sessions and subsequent discussions, I ended up with more questions than I had answers. This is actually a good thing in that it inspires me to delve deeper into Oracle. Many of the sessions were way too short, I wanted to know so much more! Personal highlights were Stephan Haisley's Transaction Management, Jonathan's How CBO Works and Kirti's Flashback Query presentations.
Networking: Great as always. The layout of Dolphin and Swan leaves much to be desired in terms of networking spots (and the Pfizer conference did not help). However, where there is a will there is a way. Many of the gurus (especially those on the list) are very open and willing to help. We had enough laptops around to try new things (like messing with the table that controls flashback queries) and confirm old things.
Listers: Great to meet you all and see some of you again.
For all the Committee Members, Presenters and Volunteers - A job well done!
