Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> It takes too long to shutdown database
I try to bounce database by shutting it down and starting it back up but it
just hang in there for almost 45 minutes trying to shut down. It is running
on Solaris8, I can press Ctrl+C to interrupt it or issue a kill command to
kill it but I hesitate to do so. Do you have any advices and why it takes
too long to shutdown database? It usually only takes me about 3 minutes to
bounce database.
