RE: Oracle 8i or 9i ?

i would say, first install 8i & start playing with it. once u r comfortable dealing with Oracle homes, clean uninstall etc, install 9i in a different home.

i personally had terrible experiences when i was learning (and i m still learning) the administration part and dealing with multiple instances of oracle on the same box. especially, cleaning up the box to install a fresh copy.

so Les, first play around with 8i and once u r comfortable, install 9i also.

I'm going to go ahead w/ the Oracle 8i course. I spoke w/ the course instructor and he also advised me to take the 8i course because Oracle8i is what is out there. So my question is:

Should I install Oracle 8i or 9i at home? What would u guys do? I would love to learn both.
