Rachel,

In the end it really didn't turn out to be much of a "solution" because I ended up losing data. My initial aim was to recover everything without losing data (isn't it always?)... Anyway, I am trying to recreate the initial situation and then I am going to try and find a proper solution for it.

I'll post it up when it works. Also, I found DOC ID: 1013221.6 "Recovering from a lost datafile in a rollback tablespace" extremely useful.

Regards
Sujatha

Suji,

When you post a question and figure out the answer, please tell us as well so we don't have to reinvent the wheel should it ever happen to us!
