Are you executing "connect internal" at the CMD C:> prompt ? Shouldn't it be in the sqlplus prompt ?
See if you've somehow got a CONNECT.BAT file in your path. If you are executing C:> connect internal, you are probably executing CONNECT.BAT [or CONNECT.EXE or CONNECT.COM]
