Thanks Dennis!

I may have to do it as you suggested. I was hoping there was a way to automatically shutdown/startup Unix script if I shutdown Oracle via srvmgrl command line prompt. For instance, if I executed 'shutdown immediate', this would invoke command behind the scene to stop the process scheduler job.

any ideas?

Willie

Willie - At our site we have a Unix startup and shutdown script tied into the system startup/shutdown scripts. You could use the same mechanism.

Gurus,

I need to implement a process to startup/shutdown a PeopleSoft Unix batch scheduler job whenever the Oracle instance is shutdown or started back up. Does anyone know of a way to tie this process to an Oracle Instance to get invoked at shutdown/startup time?
