I have on more than one occasion been glad to have the online redo logs backed up. The common wisdom is that you don't need them.
For various reasons they have at times made the difference between a recoverable backup and an unrecoverable backup.
Particularly on NT, where there is no dearth of people that really don't know what they are doing with databases.
