Lucky you.
Our CIO tried instituting a "you must always be on latest release and patchset" policy last year. After I kicked and screamed (that would have meant 9.0.1.0 at the time) I got a little leeway but still need to patch things that work perfectly.

I have 23 Oracle databases running 8.1.7.0 (knock on wood) w/out a problem. I patch only when its broke. Or for a new install, e.g. waiting for 9i rel 2 w/ its patches before I start the upgrade process.
