wish this had come about 20 years ago, as it would
have saved us approx. 2 man years of dev. time
(conservative estimate).
Considering all 9i enhancements... this feature should weigh in at well over 25%

SQL> SELECT * FROM v$version;
BANNER
SQL> create table test_table (wrong_name VARCHAR2(40)); Table created.
SQL> alter table test_table rename column wrong_name to right_name;
Table altered.
SQL> desc test_table;
