Hi

Qs 1 What are Current Best practices of Advisable Stripe Width on the Following Storage ? Qs 2 Does the principle Stripe Width = 64K to 128K for OLTP & 256K to 512K for Batch/DSS Kind of Applications Still Hold Good ?

NEW ESS SAN Storage to be Set up :-

CONSTITUENTS of the Storage Box :-
Containing 2 RS6K machines within it each having 4 CPUs 8 Adapters (Controllers) , 4 belonging to Each RS6K machine 16 GB RAM + NVS on Each Adapter

Loop 1

                   ---------8 Disks ------
Adaptor 1 o| |o 2nd Adapter
                   -------- 8 Disks ------

Thus there Exist 16 Loops in the Box i.e. 2 Loops per Adapter pair

8 Disks being Considered to be put in a RAID Volume 6 Data Disks + 1 Parity Disk + 1 Hotspare Disk = 8 Disks per RAID Volume

NOTE - Our Banking Application is a Hybrid Leaning MORE Towards OLTP

Thanks
