RE: which initSID?

There is no way to find that out.
Unless, the init.ora uses ifile option and the file pointed to by ifile contains all the parameters. In that case you can query v$parameter view to see what ifile points to.
By default Oracle looks for it in the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory.
