Not even that. I was interested what are possible parameters of the deal, what is negotiated with the publisher, what can be reasonable expectations etc. Something like if your book is sold 10000 copies you can reasonable try to get x% of sales price etc. I was not interested in any specific details of any specific deals. It is the same thing as to ask what is the hourly rate for Oracle DBA. Answer - it depends but usually it is not a problem knowing location, person experience and knowledge and type of the project to tell the rate with maybe 20% precision.

But you had no problem giving out your father's self-publishing finances. <ducking> :-)

I think all the original poster was asking was ballpark figures. ie; should a prospective author of an Oracle book expect to make around $1,000, around $10,000, around $100,000, etc. No personal finances involved. Your mileage may vary, etc.
