It depends on what you write. I'm sure Stephen King, etc. makes more than 200k/yr. I think the money is probably in the licensing. Oracle books could have a entire marketing campaign that would even the score. Let's see... we need T-Shirts, posters, kiddie toys as Micky Dees as well as a slickly produced movie.
Also, I bet there is a reason that a typical novel cost $25 and a typical Technical Manual costs $50!
Oh, just wondering what kind of royalty payment you get from a book club that offers free books to join up. I think that Music Artists receive none *YUK* Just my .0000125 cents (Royalty payment, don't you know!)
This has been such a fun thread. And scarry too. I don't even have a hint of a wish to write an Oracle Book now! My hat's off to all of the hard working authors out there :)
