Yes. It not only depend on your system resources like RAM but most dependent on semaphores defined on your unix system. Besides before increasing it you have to see your sessions requirement.

what is the maximum value to which I can set the process parameter in the init.ora file.Does this depend on the servers RAM?
How does the relation go about and how do we decide on the number of process to be set.
