if it is oracle 815 onwards

insert new column in the table.
insert data into new column from the old column in the table alter table <table name> drop column <old column name>

One of the ways:

create table newtable (newcolumn1,newcolumn2,newcolumn3,...) as select * from oldtable
;

rename newtable to oldtable;
