Recovering a failed database copy

Fellow DBA's

System is 8.0.6 on Compaq Tru64 40f

Normally my database copies go smoothly, without incident. However this time the rollback parameter on the target system did not match the rollback segment that existed in the source database. The create controlfile script ran successfully to rename the database, but when I tryed to "alter database open resetlogs;" I got a ORA-1534 rollback segment does not exist. After correcting the init file and trying this command again I get a ORA-1139
(resetlogs is now invalid option). Trying to open the database without the
resetlogs option generates a ORA-600 error. ls -l shows that all datafile have a current datestamp.

Is there anyway to recover from this without starting the file copy (a 15-18hr process) all over again.

Thanks,
Mike Hand
