OT- Where will these job duties will take me?

Happy Friday friends,

This is slightly off-topic but I guess I need help from experienced folks ....

On my own I do try to find products, utilities that will ease my work and make it better. All of this is oracle related, and I am kind of a troubleshooter at work, who can fix few problems etc. etc.

Now there is a talk of making this as an official part of my job duties.

Those will include,
* being the point person for Oracle troubleshooting,

building/resolving interface (between different applications) issues
Smoothing out complicated processes.
researching/ evaluating/recommending new products/utilities/versions for our development staff
Getting to know the latest technological improvements happening in Oracle releases and evaluating their feasibility for our application

This is a very broad description, no doubt more will be there. This won't take me away from coding completely, but it probably will constitute only a part (less than 25%) but more involvement on design side.

I mostly a technical person, and it is becoming hard to imagine where this job will take me? What would this (or comparable) position be? So I thought why not ask the list, maybe someone is already wearing this hat ... and I'll get some help/guidance as well.
