Yong,

First of all, I know it was bad answer. Because I was doing several = things
when I answered. Even that, I would try to justife myself.

Issuing a shutdown normal....even an immediate would be enough....in = theory.
However, in my answer what I was implying is a way to avoid RESETLOGS. = I do
know there are others ways, f.e., you could mount the database and the = issue
an alter database clear logfile for each group. Or what a hell ( sorry = !)
recreate controlfile with resetlogs or issue an recover database until cancel and then an alter database open resetlogs.......and then backup = !!!.
