We not only have a clear age and "cultural" difference between many respondents, there is obviously(?) a resulting ideological component.

The "old timers" are "libertarian" americans who distrust (if not despise) central authority, value "self-reliance", moral individualism, etc.

The "pro-OCP" crowd are mostly people from "collectivist" cultures (with recent histories of socialist institutions) that put more emphasis on group validation and norms.
