I have been asked to give solid reasons for upgrading our database from 8.0.5.2.1 to 8i and our applications from 11.0.2 to 11i...we are running on Sun Solaris 2.6...if anyone has information to share, I'd like to hear it...

thanks in advance...roy

Subject: RE: simple (?) recovery question

Is it really acceptable that Oracle corrupted it's own datafiles? I think there is a bigger issue and a possibly flawed product if a DBMS cannot go down (hard) and come up in a consistent state. This is rule 1. Received on Wed Sep 06 2000 - 11:13:29 CDT
