In earlier versions of Oracle (read: Oracle 8 and
below) the DBWR average scan depth is a function of
Oracle.
In Oracle 8.1 the DBWR algorithms are changed (and the
buffer cache meanagements also with the introduction
of 'touch count' and 'mid point insertion' instead of
typical LRU..I.e The LRU is no more used to manage the
buffer cache).
So setting db_files to a higher number infaltes the
DBWR avg scan depth in oracle 8.
