The standard index works just fine for dates. You should have no need for = a function.

Hi!

This is kind of a basic question, but I just wanted to make sure: if I = want
to index a DATE column, do I use a regular B-tree index or do I use a function based index?

This is 8.1.6 on AIX.

Thanks,
Helmut
