straight from the Oracle support line ....
type
file oracle
(in $ORACLE_HOME/bin) and it will tell you the file version including bit
(32 or 64)...

Log into SQL*Plus. If it's the 64-bit version, it says so plainly in the banner. If not, there is no "bit" specified.
