Rachel,

Thanks for your quick feedback.

I confirmed with Veritas people that it doesn't failover sessions. As a matter of fact,
once it determines an instance needs to be failed over, it shuts it down first. So there goes all active connections.

As of session failover w/ or w/o OPS, I found out a few articles on metalink, which seem to suggest that although OPS is not required for Transparent Application Failover (TAF), oci8 driver is required.
