AAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With older unices (3.2.4.2 and older) that will only cause *some* problems. With anything newer, you will create a disaster of biblical proportions, the best solution for which is to accelerate the computer to 9.8 m/s vertically and start again with a new one. (possibly I exaggerate slightly).
The /etc/passwd file is *not* the only and final arbiter of user identification. At minimum, you've also got /etc/group, probably /etc/shadow, in some versions of sco you've got the entire /tcb tree, and who knows what else in other brands. The days when the password was encrypted in the passwd file are OVER.

<smaller>Hi, </smaller>
<smaller>Is any one of you having a script that will automatically
create users on a</smaller>
<smaller>uni box(preferably on SUNOS).Script should give all the
details like</smaller>
<smaller>existing groups and userid's and prompt the administrator
for input.I have</smaller>
size=2>written one a year back but last it as i became a DBA from Unix Admin.
<smaller>Any site where these kind of scripts available is also OK.
</smaller>
<smaller>Thanks in advance
