401K is a standard type of retirement savings plan where the employee designates a percentage of their salary (usually less than 15%) to be saved in a pre-tax account
by their employee.

That account can usually be invested in stocks, mutual funds, money market accounts, etc.

Some companies will match part or all of the employee's contributions to their retirement account.

Many U.S. companies are moving away from a traditional pension where the company provides
all of the retirement benefit money towards a 401K where the employee provides most or all of
the money in the retirement account.

I don't know of any U.S. DBAs that make more than $200,000 salary. Received on Thu Aug 10 2000 - 07:05:03 CDT
