Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Help needed: OCP exam_cram book questons
Not wanting to start a LOOOONG thread again but I had to add a buck or two =
to the pot.
NOTHING beats experience.period. I am sure that there are a lot of DBA's =
doing a fantastic job and saving thier company a lot of time and money =
that do NOT have thier OCP yet. I applaud them for thier ability and =
perserverence, but working the job and taking the test are two different =
things. Knowing how to do and what to do may not be the answer they are =
looking for when they word the test. The MOST CORRECT answer from the =
choices given may not bet the real world CORRECT answer. Of those of use =
that have taken the test, How many of the answers would have been "MORE =
CORRECT" if they had supplied the real world answer as a chioce?=20
Keep in mind that the questions and answers are not platform specific. Yea =
Right!. If all of your experience in on one platform "and you are good at =
what you do" you may have difficulties answering some of the questions. =
That is one of the reasons to inhance your knowledge with the CRAMS,etc =
before you take the tests.
As an example: The test questions ask about Oracle products that can be =
purchased to make the DBA interface a GUI rather than command line. They =
do not work on all platforms and are very costly. With out the books to =
learn from I would have been quessing at the answers. I now have the =
knowledge and the resources to use the products in the future at another =
work location.
