Re: Hot backup advise needed

Being a Novell shop, we have installed Veritas backup exec with the Oracle = agent that follows the Oracle recomendation for hot backups. alter = tablespace...begin backup. os copy the datafiles. alter tablespace... end = backup. etc; we tried the openfile products on the market but even Veritas = states that they will not work on Oracle datafiles. We plan to deploy the = Veritas Backup Exec in the next week aftyer complete testing and restoring = on the development server. Until then it's cold backups each night. Ron Rogers

I know there were many questions regarding this issue , but ... as U know = , the cutlery is never there when it is lunch time .... So , would anyone please share with me , directly or via the list , your = hot backup scripts , strategies , recovery plans , everything related to = backup & recovery .
Scripts & links are extremely appreciated ! I'm mainly interested in ones for UNIX , but every 0.02$ are very welcome = .
