I am reading on RMAN and I am confused about some of the terminology. Can
someone 


elaborate on the following:



ALLOCATE CHANNEL vs RELEASE CHANNEL


RESTORE vs RECOVER  documentation I am reading on this makes no distinction
SWITCH DATAFILE TO DATAFILECOPY
