FYI, I while ago I posted a question on this list about what happens when = you
analyse a database during a data load.

Oracle gave me this answer:

                In general, DML is supported even when the table is being analyzed for statistics. It is not recommended to analyze while the = table is

                 being accessed. However, we DO obtain an exclusive lock for analyze ... validate structure.=20

                 In the case of a large number of inserts, this could produce inaccurate statistics, poor performance of both the analyze and = the
load

                 but not corrupted data.=20
