1.- You can have several listeners in one server. You named differently in the listener.ora and in differents ports too. And that's it. 2.- There are several causes for intermittent 12500. Look up the setting of "processes" of your init.ora. Also review kernel related parameters. And check out the swap space whether is enough or not. Take a look of your alert if there are any ORA-4030 error.
