Kirti,

You can probably find some white papers on Oracle's website. Or if you have an Oracle contact you can get some competitive information from them. www.tpc.org has lots of benchmark numbers.

Here is something I will tell my management if they are considering switching to db2. IBM has a dedicated Oracle team to sell Oracle database on IBM platforms. If DB2 is so great why are they selling their competitor's database? The reason is they get so much businesses that they can't simply ingore! :)

I am looking for some white papers, benchmarks etc. that would compare DB2-UDB to Oracle8i in the areas of performance, scalability, ease of maintenance and such. Does anyone know of any web sites that I can find such information at? The damagement is considering migration to DB2-UDB (instead of using Oracle8i) as a back-end database for a large scale Web based application. Anyone has any success/horror stories to share?

Thanks.
